Julia Garner Joins Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four’

Emmy winner Julia Garner has joined the cast for Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated upcoming film “The Fantastic Four” which is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.  The film was previously slated for a May 2, 2025 release.

According to Deadline, Garner will play Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer from the comics.

Plot details for the film are under wraps.

The recently announced cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka the Thing).

Matt Shakman (WandaVision) will direct the project currently in pre-production at Pinewood Studios in England. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will produce.

Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer penned the script.

“Fantastic Four” will reportedly shoot this summer in London.

Garner won her first of three Emmys for playing Ruth on the Netflix crime drama Ozark. She also landed an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Anna Delvey on the limited series Inventing Anna.
