Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead to Direct Marvel’s ‘Moon Knight’ Series


Variety is reporting that Marvel has landed indie horror filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead to direct several episodes of the upcoming “Moon Knight” series for Disney+.

The duo have worked on many films together including their 2013 feature debut “Resolution.” They also directed a segment in the 2014 found footage horror anthology film “V/H/S Viral.” Most recently, they directed the horror feature “Synchronic,” starring Jamie Dornan and Anthony Mackie.

Moon Knight’s cinematographer, Gregory Middleton (Game of Thrones) recently confirmed Oscarr Isaac (The Rise of Skywalker) will be portraying the titular hero.

“Moon Knight” is a new series created for Disney+. Directed by Mohamed Diab (Clash), the action-adventure features a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters who appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography.

Jeremy Slater (Umbrella Academy) will will lead the writers room on the new series.

“Moon Knight” is set to begin shooting in Hungary in March, and premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
