Keegan-Michael Key and Johnny Knoxville are tapped to star in a comedy pilot from Steve Levitan (Modern Family co-creator) and John Enbom (iZombie) for Hulu. In “Reboot,” Hulu decides to reboot an early 2000’s Family sitcom. Its dysfunctional cast is forced back together and now must deal with their unresolved issues in today’s fast-changing world.
Levitan and John Enbom co-wrote the pilot script for the potential series based on a story by the Modern Family creator. Levitan and Enbom will executive produce alongside Danielle Stokdyk. Levitan’s home studio, 20th Television, is producing the pilot.
Key most recently appeared in Apple TV+’s musical-comedy series Schmigadoon! He will also star in Judd Apatow’s upcoming comedy feature The Bubble for Netflix.
Knoxville is best known for Jackass, Jackass Two, Jackass 3D, and Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa. His next appearance will be in Jackass 4, which is set to release on October 22.
Modern Family ended in April 2020 after eleven seasons and 250 episodes. The series won 22 Emmy Awards throughout its run, including five wins for best comedy series.
