‘Kim Possible’ Reboot Rumored To Be in Development at Disney

A “Kim Possible” reboot is reportedly in the works at Disney.  The news comes from The Cosmic Circus which reports this project will be animated and so not a continuation of the 2019 live-action film.  The article goes on to say those looking for a whole new season might have to wait just a bit longer, because it seems this reboot is going to be a film for one of their networks or Disney+, if not both (as seen with other cross-platform Disney projects).

No other details about the project were provided.

As always, since nothing has been confirmed by Disney, we will treat this as a rumor for now.

“Kim Possible” is an animated television show that debuted on Disney Channel on June 7, 2002.  It ran for 4 seasons for a total of 65 episodes.

In the series, Kim Possible is your typical high school girl who, in her spare time, saves the world from evil villains. Along with her best friend Ron Stoppable; his pet, a naked mole-rat named Rufus; and their webmaster buddy Wade, who feeds them vital information via a special Kimmunicator device, Kim foils archenemies around the globe. Then it’s back to her family and homework.

Voices include Christy Carlson Romano (Kim), Will Friedle (Ron Stoppable), Nancy Cartwright (Rufus), Kirsten Storms (Bon-Bon Rockweiler), Rider Strong (Brick).

The animated series also inspired a live-action Disney Channel Original Movie which originally aired on Feb. 15, 2019. In this live-action version of the earlier animated television series, Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable are entering high school, where they befriend Athena, who is having even a worse time than they are adapting to the new school. Athena becomes a member of Team Possible, and soon they have to try to stop Drakken and Shego when they resurface in Middleton. The film was directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. Cast includes Sadie Stanley (Kim), Sean Giambrone (Ron), Clara Wilson (Athena), and Issac Ryan Brown (Wade).

Both the animated series and live-action version of “Kim Possible” are available to stream now on Disney+.

  1. Disney has been known for making some of the best animated shows ever made. From “The Lion King” to “A Wrinkle in Time” they always seem to come up with something great. This Kim Possible reboot is no exception- and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next. This is definitely a project we can trust and we can only hope that it’s good.
