‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ Wraps Filming

20th Century Studios’ “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” has wrapped filming.

Plot details for the next installment have been kept under wraps but starts the all-new chapter in the Apes saga, which reportedly picks up many years after the conclusion of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes.

The reimagined film stars Owen Teague (Black Mirror), Freya Allen (Gunpowder Milkshake), Kevin Durand (The Strain), Peter Macon (The Orville), Eka Darville (Jessica Jones), Travis Jeffery (Unbroken), Neil Sandilands (Sweet Tooth), Sara Wiseman (One Of Us Is Lying), Ras-Samuel Welda’abzgi (The Clearing), Lydia Peckham (Cowboy Bebop), Dichen Lachman (Severance) and William H. Macy (Shameless).

Wes Ball (The Maze Runner) will direct.  The screenplay is by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and Patrick Aison.  Joe Hartwick Jr, Jaffa, Silver and Jason Reed are the film’s producers, with Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping exec producing.

20th Century Studios’ “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” will release in theaters on May 24, 2024.
