Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales Review

Last year’s Lego Star Wars Holiday Special saw everyone’s favourite Lego Star Wars characters from the original and sequel trilogies brought together hilariously. Now, they’re back, and this time Poe Dameron is at the helm, taking fans on an enthralling journey through the darkest chapters of Star Wars history with a comedic twist.

After a run-in with the First Order, Poe and BB-8 are forced to divert their trip, landing on Mustafar, just beyond the remains of Darth Vader’s castle. The castle is being turned into a holiday destination, leading to some gags reminiscent of the Disney parks.

A lot happens during the forty-five-minute film, plenty of terrifying tales about Darth Maul, General Grievous and Kylo Ren. There are some hilarious callbacks to horror films like the shining, and beneath the Star Wars mayhem and humour, there is an underlying message about the call to the dark side.

Whilst Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales is a lot of nonsensical fun, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Just like the holiday special, it provides a funny, well-rounded character-driven story.

Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales is streaming now on Disney+.
