Liv Tyler Set to Return as Betty Ross in Marvel’s ‘Captain America: New World Order’

Liv Tyler is set to reprise her Marvel role as Betty Ross for “Captain America: New World Order.”

In the upcoming film, Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, and Carl Lumbly will return to their roles from the Disney+ Original series “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.”  Additionally, Tim Blake Nelson joins the cast as Dr. Samuel Sterns, reprising his role from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk.  It has also confirmed that Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones, Star Wars) will play General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in the film and Xosha Roquemore (Space Jam: A New Legacy) has reportedly been cast in a key role.

Per Deadline:

Tyler’s scientist character is the daughter of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt Ross” — a military official played up until recently by William Hurt, to be portrayed following Hurt’s passing by Harrison Ford. The actress last took on the part for 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, which was just the second film in the MCU following the Robert Downey Jr. starrer Iron Man and had Edward Norton playing the title character.

Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox and Luce) is director of the project.  Kramer Morgenthau has been tapped as the director of photography.

Malcolm Spellman, head writer and show creator for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, returns to write the script for Captain America 4 along with Dalan Musson.

“Captain America: New World Order” releases in theaters on May 3, 2024.

Tyler’s credits include Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings films and Armageddon.
