Live-Action ‘Mulan’ Sequel Is Reportedly In Early Development

Disney’s highly-anticipated live-action Mulan movie hasn’t opened in theaters yet, but a sequel to the film is reportedly already in early development.   The film was scheduled to hit theaters on March 27, but was given a new release date of July 24, 2020 due to the global health crisis.

According to insider Daniel Richtman’s, Chris Bender, Jason Reed, and Jake Weiner will return to produce. Currently, there are no writers attached to the project, and it is unknown if Niki Caro will return to direct.

The new sequel is said to be an original story, and will not draw inspiration from Disney’s animated Mulan 2, which was a direct to VHS release.
