Live-Action ‘Princess and the Frog‘ Reportedly in the Works

Recently, Disney has released many live-action versions of their classic tales. It’s no surprise, given that they’ve garnered more than $6.5 billion worldwide at the box office.

According to The DisInsider on YouTube, ‘Princess and the Frog’ appears to be the next animated feature poised for a live-action makeover.

No further details have been announced, But there’s speculation surrounding the casting choices for Tiana and Prince Naveen, with names like Jenna Ortega and Simu Liu coming up. However, this is just fan suggestions rather than official news.

Given the current writers/actors strike and Disney’s significant budget cuts, the release of a live-action “Princess and the Frog” film is not assured, especially in the near future.

Disney is also developing a “Tiana” series for Disney+, which has faced several delays. The series will chronicle the adventures of the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia, though her New Orleans roots continue to play a significant role in her journey. It’s believed the series will be released in 2024.

In the upcoming years, Disney will release many live-action adaptations. Set to debut are “Snow White” (2024), “Lilo & Stitch” (2024), “Mufasa” (2024), and “Moana” (2025). Besides these and the previously noted “Tangled”, Disney is exploring live-action versions of “Tangled,” “Aristocats,” “Hercules,” “The Sword in the Stone,” “Bambi,” and “Robin Hood.” However, it’s worth noting that the projects without specified release dates are still in early development and might not see fruition.
