Martin Klebba To Play Grumpy in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Snow White’

Martin Klebba (Pirates of the Caribbean) has confirmed that he will be playing Grumpy in Disney’s live-action “Snow White” film.

Klebba shared the news himself at Denver’s annual Fan Expo.  You can see what he said below:

“I just got done filming Snow White. It’s going to be coming out late next year. And, of course, I play Grumpy. Gal Gadot is our witch, and Rachel Zegler will be our Snow White. So, come on down, it’ll be a good time.”

Disney has previously indicated that the dwarves in the film will be reimagined as mythical creatures but no other details about these roles have been provided.

Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) will play Snow White in the adaptation and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman franchise) will star as The Evil Queen.  Tony-winning actor Andrew Burnap (The Inheritance) has been cast as the male lead and is said to play a new character in the movie, rather than The Prince or the Huntsman of past iterations.

Insiders say the live-action film will expand on the story and music from the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs animated movie which was released in 1937.  Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La LandThe Greatest Showman, Dear Evan Hansen) have written new songs for the movie.

Academy Award nominee Greta Gerwig wrote the script.  Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) directs the movie.  Marc Platt (Mary Poppins Returns, La La Land) is producing.  Cinematographer Mandy Walker (Mulan) has also joined Disney’s live-action “Snow White” film.

A release date for “Snow White” has not been announced yet.
