Last month, Deadline reported that Marvel is developing a Nova project with Sabir Pirzada (Moon Knight) on board to write. At that time, it was unclear whether this was intended as a theatrical film or a series for Disney+.
According to a new report from Daniel Richtman, the project is intended as a series for Disney+. As always, since nothing has been confirmed by Disney or Marvel, we will treat this as a rumor for now.
In case you aren’t familiar with the character, Nova, a.k.a Richard Rider became Nova after the last surviving member of Corps, Rhomann Dey, crash-landed on Earth and bestowed his powers and duty upon him. His many powers include flight, superhuman strength, speed, and durability. He has also been a member of many superhero teams such as the Guardians of the Galaxy, throughout his comic book history, which began back in 1966.
Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige will produce.
Last October, a report from GWW, suggested the film will enter production in 2023.
