Marvel Studios Announces New ‘Black Panther’ Series

Marvel Studios recently hosted a press screening for “What If…? Season 2,” scheduled to debut on Disney+ later this month. During the event, attendees were given an exclusive preview of the studio’s Disney+ animation lineup for 2024. This includes “Eyes of Wakanda,” a new Black Panther spin-off animated series, set to premiere on Disney+ next year.

The official synopsis for the series:

Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story.

Reported in November 2022, Disney is said to be developing multiple Black Panther spinoff series for Disney+. These include one featuring the Kingdom of Wakanda and another focusing on the origins of Danai Gurira’s Okoye. However, “Eyes of Wakanda” appears to be a separate project, but it’s possible those concepts are retooled into Eyes of Wakanda.

The animated show will debut at some point in 2024, alongside fellow Marvel animated series X-Men ’97 and Spider-Man: Freshman Year.

Marvel’s What If…? Season 2 will debut on December 22 and a new episode will follow each night until all nine episodes become available.
