Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again’ Disney+ Release Date Estimate & What We Know So Far

Filming on Marvel’s Disney+ Original series “Daredevil: Born Again” started in March 2023 and is now temporarily on hold due to the Hollywood strike. With the series now on hiatus, fans are wondering when the show will arrive on Disney+ and other details about the project.  Read on below for everything we know about Marvel Studios’ “Daredevil: Born Again.”

“Daredevil: Born Again” Disney+ Release Date

Last July, during the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, announced that “Daredevil: Born Again” an Original series starring Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, would be coming to Disney+ in Spring 2024, however with filming temporarily paused due to the writers/actors strike, the release date will likely be pushed back.  We will update this article once a Disney+ release date is officially announced.

“Daredevil: Born Again” Plot

Specific plot details for “Daredevil: Born Again” are being kept under wraps however given the show’s titles, it is possible the storyline will follow the story arc from the comics #227-231 by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli.

We do know that the series will be a reboot rather than a continuation of the original “Daredevil series..” At the D23 Expo in September 2022, Charlie Cox told Extra TV, “It is a Season 1, it is not Season 4, so it is a whole new thing. Which I think is the way to go. If you are going to do it again, do it differently.”

As Den of Geek explains, Born Again is one of the comic’s darkest plotlines and, if replicated, would be heavier than anything yet committed to screen from the MCU.

The comic’s plot arc concerns Karen Page revealing Daredevil’s secret identity to Kingpin for drug money. Kingpin uses this information to break apart Matt Murdock’s life, leaving him broke, homeless and losing the will to live. After helping Karen kick the habit, Daredevil ultimately teams up with Captain America to take on the supersoldier Nuke.

As the site notes, some of the plot elements of the story arc have already been used by Netflix, but there’s still plenty of material there for the new series to use if it’s not seen as being a bit too much.
