Yesterday, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that they are recommending no social gatherings of more than 50 people in an effort to combat the spread of the coronavirus. This effort will last for eight weeks, which takes us to May 10, 2020. Marvel’s Black Widow was scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, which means Marvel will likely postpone the release date.
Disney has already postponed the release dates of three films over coronavirus concerns including: Mulan, New Mutants, and Antlers.
Production and filming have also halted on several Disney+ shows including Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, and Wandavision. Disney and Marvel additionally paused production and pre-production on live-action films including: Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, The Last Duel, The Little Mermaid, Home Alone, Nightmare Alley, Peter Pan & Wendy and Shrunk.
