Marvel’s ‘Echo’ Disney+ Series Filming Dates Reportedly Revealed

According to Production Weekly, Marvel’s Disney+ Original series Echo will begin filming on April 25th and is expected to continue through August 26th in Peachtree City, Georgia.

Echo was just introduced in the new Hawkeye series on Disney+.  The deaf Native American character whose real name is Maya Lopez, is played by Alaqua Cox. She has the ability to perfectly copy another person’s movements or fighting style, making her a formidable opponent on the battlefield.

Not much is known about the new series, however, Echo’s writers will include Marion Dayre (Better Call Saul) as its lead alongside Shoshannah Stern (Supernatural) and, Bobby Wilson (Reservation Dogs)It was also recently reported that Reservation Dogs director Sydney Freeland might be on board to direct at least one episode of the series.

Ken Kristensen and Dara Resnik will also be working as writers on Disney+’s Echo. Kristensen wrote three episodes of The Punisher; including season 1, episode 10, “Virtue Of The Vicious,” season 2, episode 3, “Trouble The Water,” and season 2, episode 9, “Flustercluck.” And, Resnik wrote two episodes of Daredevil  including season 3, episode 8, “Upstairs/Downstairs,” and episode 11, “Reunion.”

It was also recently reported that Academy Award-nominated actor, Graham Greene (Dances With Wolves) had joined the cast.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio could reprise their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin in the upcoming series.  Charlie Cox originally played Matt Murdock/ Daredevil in the Marvel series on Netflix from 2015 to 2018.  He also appeared in the spinoff series, The Defenders. Most recently his character had a cameo appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. D’Onofrio also starred in Daredevil and most recently appeared as Kingpin/ Wilson Fisk in Marvel’s Hawkeye series on Disney+.  Both characters have deep connections to Maya Lopez/Echo in the comics so the idea does seem plausible.

A Disney+ release date for Echo has not been announced yet but it is expected to debut in 2023.
