Back in November on Disney+ Day, Disney confirmed Marvel Studios’ Echo series for Disney+.

Echo was just introduced in the new Hawkeye series on Disney+.  The deaf Native American character whose real name is Maya Lopez, is played by Alaqua Cox. She has the ability to perfectly copy another person’s movements or fighting style, making her a formidable opponent on the battlefield.

Not much is known about the series, however, Echo’s writers will include Marion Dayre (Better Call Saul) as its lead alongside Shoshannah Stern (Supernatural) and, Bobby Wilson (Reservation Dogs)It was also recently reported that Reservation Dogs director Sydney Freeland might be on board to direct at least one episode of the series.

Ken Kristensen and Dara Resnik will also be working as writers on Disney+’s Echo. Kristensen wrote three episodes of The Punisher; including season 1, episode 10, “Virtue Of The Vicious,” season 2, episode 3, “Trouble The Water,” and season 2, episode 9, “Flustercluck.” And, Resnik wrote two episodes of Daredevil  including season 3, episode 8, “Upstairs/Downstairs,” and episode 11, “Reunion.”

Echo will reportedly start production this spring and according to One Take News, the series will be working under the title of Grasshopper.  It was previously reported that the working title was Whole Branzino.  However, the outlet points out that Marvel Studios likes to have multiple working titles for their projects and they tend to shift over time.
