Marvel’s ‘Hit Monkey’ Coming To Hulu In November

Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Marvel’s animated “Hit Monkey” will arrive on Hulu in the United States on Wednesday, November 17th.

The dark comedy series is based on the Marvel comic and follows a Japanese snow macaque whose clan meets a stranded hitman, Bryce (Jason Sudeikis), and nurses him back to health. But when Bryce bites the dust, it’s up to the titular simian (guided by Bryce’s ghost) to follow in his assassin’s footsteps and seek vengeance.

The show is created by Josh Gordon and Will Speck. Gordon described the character to EW as “a character who is violent and temperamental but also deeply wounded and innocent.”

Marvel announced “Hit Monkey” a while ago alongside several other titles including M.O.D.O.K, Tigra & Dazzler and Kevin Smith’s Howard the Duck.  Combined together, the shows would have made “The Offenders” crossover, however, two of the series were scrapped.  “Hit Monkey” continued to move forward along with M.O.D.O.K. which was released on Hulu back in May.

Because of the show’s darker, adult-themed humor, “Hit Monkey” will not have Marvel in its title name.   ComicBook.com’s Adam Barnhardt shared on Twitter that because of the show’s violent nature, the Marvel name will be left out, much like Helstrom.

“Hit Monkey” will also be released on Star on Disney+ internationally however a release date has not been announced yet.
