‘Hit-Monkey’ Renewed For Second Season

The adult animated series “Hit-Monkey” has been renewed for a second season.  The first season which consisted of 10 episodes launched in November 2021 and is available to stream now on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in many countries including the United Kingdom and Canada.

The first season of “Hit Monkey” follows a Japanese snow monkey, aided by the ghost of an American assassin, who goes on a revenge quest and becomes the famous “killer of killers.”

Season two will follow Bryce and Monkey to New York City.

According to Deadline, Olivia Munn will return to voice Akiko, the smart and ambitious niece of the future prime minister, while Jason Sudeikis will be back as Bryce, a world-weary assassin who has made poor life choices. Also returning to the series are Fred Tatasciore as Hit-Monkey — described as the killer of killers — and Ally Maki as Haruka, an honest cop from a small town.  Leslie Jones (Ghostbusters) is also joining the cast this season but Hulu has yet to reveal her character.

“Hit Monkey” is cre­ated by Josh Gordon and Will Speck who will also serve as showrunners and executive producers.   The series is co-executive produced by Keith Foglesong, Matt Thompson, and Neal Holman; and produced by Duffy Boudreau, Mollie Brock, and Marcus Rosentrater.

The series is produced by 20th Television Animation.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that “Hit-Monkey” will now no longer carry the Marvel branding for Season 2.
