Marvel’s ‘Loki’ Season 2 Production Slated for 2022


Marvel’s “Loki” has already been renewed for Season 2 ahead of of the show’s debut on Disney+.  Production Weekly is reporting that the new series will start production on its sophomore season in January 2022.

Filming for the first season of “Loki” began earlier this year, however production was halted due to the pandemic.  The series is set to premiere on the streaming service sometime in 2021.

Neither Marvel or Disney have announced any details about Season 2 yet. In the first season, Tom Hiddleston returns as the titular character Loki, the Asgardian god of mischief and everyone’s favorite Marvel villain, in stories that take place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.”

Other actors who have been confirmed by Marvel/Disney to star in “Loki” include Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Cailey Fleming Sasha Lane and Richard E. Grant all in unknown roles.

Kate Herron (Daybreak) will direct the series. Michael Waldron (Rick & Morty) wrote and will serve as the showrunner on the series.
