Don Cheadle, who will be starring in Marvel’s upcoming Secret Invasion series, recently confirmed that the Disney+ miniseries will lead directly into Marvel’s upcoming Armor Wars movie.
The news was shared in an interview with Total Film, in which the actor said:
“It’s bananas! And it’s very expansive,” he said. “And obviously now that everyone can show up in everybody else’s story. I mean, I’m in Secret Invasion, so I’m in Sam [Jackson]’s show. There’s a part of that, that kicks off what happens in Armor Wars.“
Marvel’s “Secret Invasion” stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos—characters who first met in Captain Marvel. The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.
The show’s cast also includes Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Don Cheadle, Christopher McDonald, Killian Scott and Martin Freeman. Cobie Smulders will also return as ex-SHIELD agent Maria Hill in the new series.
Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot), will act as head writer and executive producer of the show. Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim direct.
“Secret Invasion” will reportedly be a six-episode event miniseries and release on Disney+ in Spring 2023.

Yassir Lester (Black Monday) was previously tapped as head writer for the series and remains attached to the project. A director has not been named yet.
“Armor Wars” will release in theaters however a release date has not been announced yet.
