Michael Giacchino To Score Pixar’s ‘Lightyear’

Michael Giacchino is scoring Disney and Pixar’s upcoming animated film “Lightyear.”  Giacchino has previously worked on Spider-Man: HomecomingFar from Home, No Way Home, the first Doctor Strange movie, and most recently the upcoming film “Thor: Love and Thunder.” Other credits include JoJo Rabbit,  UpLostStar TrekRogue One: A Star Wars StoryJurassic WorldThe Incredibles, and Ratatouille. He has also provided the score for Pixar’s 2013 TV special Toy Story of Terror and Toy Story That Time Forgot.

The sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy—introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.

Chris Evans lends his voice to Buzz. Annie Award-winning director and veteran Pixar animator Angus MacLane helms “Lightyear.” Galyn Susman produces.

“Lightyear” launches into theaters on June 17, 2022.
