First reactions report that the first two episodes are bright, colorful, fun and fantastic with rave reviews for Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. Read some spoiler-free first reactions below:
#MsMarvel is bright, fun and probably as close to a comic page as we’ve seen from Marvel. Teenagers are going to find Kamala relatable as she struggles with her identity, faith and powers. She’s awkward in the best possible way and a perfect addition to the MCU

I watched the first 2 episodes of #MsMarvel. It’s so closely linked to the #MCU, yet unbelievably different from what they typically put out. It’s creative, whimsical and the truest depiction of teenaged life in the shared universe.#MarvelStudios @FandomWire @CinemaStubs pic.twitter.com/HU83bLt0Wh

First 2 episodes of #MsMarvel leave no doubt about the type of show this is. It’s a show for those of us who grew up watching the #MCU and fantasized about having powers of our own. It’s a coming of age story that works as a love letter to the genre.#MarvelStudios #DisneyPlus pic.twitter.com/d4HUmETJiw

#MsMarvel is a bright and colorful high school fever dream. Kamala Khan’s superhero journey is nuanced and her navigation of the modern world as a Pakistani-American Muslim teenager is relatable yet culturally specific. Iman Vellani is a delight. And those perfect music bangers. pic.twitter.com/Z49mlCHRik

#MsMarvel is a vibrant and exciting story that takes a plunge into both the MCU and Pakistani culture. Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan is absolutely fantastic, as shes likely to become an MCU favorite. Not to mention her new powers are a phenomenal addition. pic.twitter.com/7zwpviMOgc

The #MsMarvel pilot episode caught me by surprise in the best ways. It’s as close as we’ve come in the MCU to comic book pages coming to life. It’s inventive, bright & a ton of fun. My strong feeling is that teens are going to fall in love with this show. I know my kids will. pic.twitter.com/axrmgPuzzt

The first two episodes of #MsMarvel are delightful and so much fun. Part superhero origin story, part young woman coming of age and into her own. The cast are wonderful, and newcomer Iman Vellani is especially charming as Kamala Khan. I cannot wait to see where this series goes! pic.twitter.com/ILt38QJaPQ

I’ve seen the first two episodes of #MsMarvel! The series feels like a lighthearted departure from previous series; filled with clever editing, smart dialogue, and teenage woes. It doesn’t quite know what it is yet, but hopefully it’ll get there soon. Iman Vellani is fantastic. pic.twitter.com/f3WIufZaPW

#MsMarvel is coming of age joy in a spandex suit. The music bangs, Iman Vellani is the kind of precious star that makes me excited for the future of the MCU, and the visuals are stolen straight from a comic book. Cannot wait to see the rest. pic.twitter.com/5udRYiGJGf

#MsMarvel is a delightful burst of energy and fun, which benefits immensely from largely filming sans green screen. It feels specific and tangible in a way that other COVID-era #Marvel stories have not. Iman Vellani is perfect casting; Yasmeen Fletcher is a supporting standout. pic.twitter.com/cN7wuQATMl

Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?
Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel. The cast also includes Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha. Bollywood star Farhan Akhtar will also have a guest-starring role in the series.
Episodes are directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Bisha K. Ali are the executive producers. Co-executive producers for the series are Sana Amanat and Trevor Waterson, and Bisha K. Ali is the head writer.
Laura Karpman has composed the score for “Ms. Marvel.”
