New Character Details Reportedly Revealed For ‘Ahsoka’ Series

Recently, it was announced that Hayden Christensen is set to reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the upcoming live-action “Ahsoka” series at Disney+.  How Christensen’s character will fit into the upcoming series remains to be seen since the events are set to take place 5 years after Return of the Jedi, which would place the timeline after Vader’s death.  It is possible the character could return for flashback scenes or as a force ghost.

Rosario Dawson will be reprising her role as Ahsoka in the limited series who we last saw in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. Dave Filoni is also attached to write the show and is exec producing with Jon Favreau.

Insider Daniel Richtman previously revealed the following logline and synopsis for the series:

Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) is on the hunt for the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn in the hope it will help her locate the missing Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi that disappeared with Thrawn many years ago. Based on characters from the “Star Wars” franchise. A spinoff of the TV series “The Mandalorian.”

Rumors have suggested that Mena Massoud (Aladdin) had reportedly been cast to play Bridger and Lars Mikkelsen has been linked to the role of Thrawn however nothing has been confirmed so far.  The Clone Wars character Barriss Offee and Sabine Wren from Star Wars: Rebels have also been rumored to appear in the upcoming series

Now, The Illuminerdi is reporting even more casting details.  According to their sources, the series is looking to cast a man in his 20s to play another lead character named “Riz.”

Riz is described as a bit of a lone wolf, world-wise despite his young age and able to handle anything life throws his way. This character is listed as a series regular with options.

The outlet does point out that Riz’s character description sounds a lot like Ezra Bridger and this could possibly be a code name to try and keep Ahsoka‘s casting process secret until Disney and Lucasfilm are ready to make an official announcement.

The Illuminerdi also reports that “Ahsoka” will consist of 8 episodes and is slated to begin production in March 2022 in Los Angeles.   An official release date for the series has not been announced yet.
