New To Disney+ This Week (UK/IRE)

Here is a look at everything that’s coming to Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland this week.

Most notably, another episode from Loki as the final draws closer, Monsters at Work debuts with two episodes, and a new Loki based short from The Simpsons.


WEDNESDAY, JULY 07, 2021

Loki – Episode 5

“Loki” features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs “Loki,” and Michael Waldron is head writer.


Monsters At Work – Episode 1- Premiere – “Welcome To Monsters, Incorporated” & Episode 2 “Meet Mift”

When Tylor Tuskmon arrives at Monsters Incorporated to begin his dream job as a Scarer, he discovers that scaring is out and laughter is in.  As a result he is temporarily reassigned to MIFT, the Monsters Incorporated Facilities Team.

When Tylor is initiated into MIFT during a bizarre ritual, he wants nothing more than to get away from his odd coworkers.  But when an emergency strikes Monsters, Inc., MIFT kicks into action and Tylor develops a hint of respect for the misfit team.


MARVEL STUDIOS LEGENDS

“Marvel Studios Legends” serves as an exciting refresher for the various heroes and villains making their way to the highly anticipated streaming shows premiering on Disney+, setting the stage for the upcoming adventures. The episodes will feature Black Widow.


The Good, The Bart, and The Loki – Simpsons Short

In the new short coming exclusively to Disney+, Loki is banished from Asgard once again and must face his toughest opponents yet: the Simpsons and Springfield’s mightiest heroes. The God of Mischief teams up with Bart Simpson in the ultimate crossover event paying tribute to the Marvel Cinematic Universe of Super Heroes and villains.  Tom Hiddleston returns as the voice of Loki in the new animated short. The God of Mischief will be seen alongside many fan-favorite characters from “The Simpsons.”

Black Widow – Premier Access

In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

High School Musical – The Musical – The Series – Season 2 – Episode 9

In season two of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” the East High Wildcats, who are preparing to perform “Beauty and the Beast” as their spring musical, face off against rival school North High to win a prestigious and cutthroat student theater competition. Wigs are snatched, loyalties are tested, and ballads are belted.


The Mysterious Benedict Society – Episode 4

Placed undercover at a boarding school known as The Institute, a group of orphans must foil a nefarious plot with global ramifications while creating a new sort of family along the way. Based on the bestseller by Trenton Lee Stewart which Time Magazine called “one of the best young adult books of all time,”The Mysterious Benedict Society” stars Emmy® Award winner Tony Hale in the titular role and features a standout ensemble of young actors.


Love, Victor – Season 2 – Episode 4

Season two picks up with a newly out-of-the-closet Victor (Michael Cimino) entering his junior year at Creekwood High. However, being out brings new challenges as Victor faces a family struggling with his revelation, a heartbroken ex-girlfriend in Mia (Rachel Naomi Hilson), and the difficulties of being an openly gay star athlete — all while navigating the excitement of his new relationship with Benji (George Sear).


Star Wars – The Bad Batch – Episode 11

The Gloaming – Episode 5

Molly hears of Jacinta Clunes’s untimely death and is convinced Gareth is behind the accident. Alex’s interest in the convict bible he found at Dorothy Moxley’s house deepens.


Grown-Ish – Season 3 – Episode 11

Aaron is offered an opportunity to be featured in a nationally televised interview; he struggles to keep his message targeted; Zoey navigates her feelings for Aaron while helping him devise a new strategy.


Rebel – Episode 7

Inspired by the life of Erin Brockovich today, Annie “Rebel” Bello is a blue-collar legal advocate without a law degree. M.O.D.O.K – Episode 8

It centers around an egomaniacal supervillain with a really big head and a really little body, who struggles to maintain control of his evil organization and his demanding family.


9-1-1: Lone Star

Captain Stand, a firefighter from New York, moves to Austin, Texas, where he must help people and perform his duties diligently while trying to deal with his own problems.


The Accident

A close-knit community in a small Welsh town is hopeful of a better and more prosperous future when a large construction project is planned in the area. But when a terrible explosion rips through the site, killing many — including children — the accident devastates the community. The immediate loss of loved ones is heartbreaking, but the community also feels its sense of hope vanish in the aftermath. The daughter of the local politician who pushed for the construction work is left with a permanent disability, a visible sign of the grief and rage that threatens to tear the town apart.


Kiri

Social worker Miriam arranges an unsupervised visit for young Kiri with her birth grandfather and his second wife, before her foster family officially adopts her. During the visit Kiri goes missing.


National Treasure

National Treasure’ is a four-part drama written by BAFTA-award winning writer Jack Thorne, starring Robbie Coltrane, Julie Walters, Andrea Riseborough and Tim McInnerny. The story follows Paul Finchley, an adored ageing comedian. Paul’s career, as one half of a comedy duo, was a successful one, lasting over several decades. Though no longer appearing regularly on television the comedian is still often recognised in public and fans ask him to repeat his famous catchphrase. However when a rape case is opened against him, his world falls apart as he stands accused of a sexual offence dating back to the 1990s.


Crazy Heart

Former country music star Blake sets out to rebuild his life after several broken marriages and a falling career. In his journey to redemption, he is helped by a journalist.


Wilson

Wilson, a neurotic middle-aged man, reunites with his estranged wife, Pippi, after 17 years and learns that he has a teenage daughter.


Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid are two free-spirited leaders of a criminal gang. When their plan of robbing a bank goes astray, they flee to Bolivia in an attempt to outdo the law in the country.
