Nicholas Britell to Score ‘Andor’ Disney+ Series

American composer Nicholas Britell has been tapped to score the upcoming “Andor” series which will launch on Disney+ later this year.  Britell has previously worked on HBO’s SuccessionMoonlightIf Beale Street Could TalkDon’t Look UpCruella, ViceThe Big ShortThe Underground Railroad.  Britell has received Academy Award nominations for his work on Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk, and Netflix’s Don’t Look Up.

“Andor” follows the adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion five years prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.

Previously announced cast includes Diego Luna, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgard, Fiona Shaw, Kyle Soller and Robert Emms.  Forest Whitaker will also reportedly reprise his role as Saw Gerrera and Ben Mendelsohn is rumored to return as Orson Krennic.

Toby Haynes will direct the first three episodes of “Andor.”  Writers include Stephen Schiff and Tony Gilroy.

“Andor” will consist of 12 episodes and debut on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
