Obi-Wan Kenobi Series to Reportedly Take Place in Two Time Periods

Last week, Kessel Run Transmissions shared some details about the new upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+.  In their announcement, they confirmed the rumors that Hayden Christensen would be returning for the new series as Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader.  The plot, which has been tightly under wraps, will reportedly follow Vader while he attempts to track down Obi-Wan, his old Jedi master and friend.

When the project was initially announced, it was confirmed that the story events would take place between “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” and “Star Wars: A New Hope”. Today, we are hearing new reports that the series will take place in two distinct time periods.  According to ComicBook.com, they suggest the series will utilize flashback sequences where fans would get to see Christensen portray Anakin Skywalker.

The new rumor suggests that perhaps these flashback sequences would take us back to the events that happened during the Clone Wars. This would support another report from Kessel Run that fan-favorite Commander Cody would be appearing in the series alongside the 212th Battalion.

Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as Kenobi in the new Obi-Wan limited series and it will be directed by Deborah Chow. Chow and McGregor will serve as Executive Producers alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Tracey Seaward (The Queen), and John Swartz (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Jason McGatlin, Lucasfilm’s Executive Vice President Production, will serve as co-producer.  Joby Harold (John Wick Chapter 3) wrote the script.
