“Oklahoma!” Removed Globally From Disney+

As of April 23, 20th Century Studios‘ “Oklahoma!” has been removed from Disney+ in all countries across the globe. “Oklahoma!” joins “The Sound Of Music” which was also recently removed.

The removal was a surprise since Disney+ does not announce which titles will leave every month like other streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu etc.

Titles removed from Disney+ aren’t uncommon due to pre-existing contracts created before Disney+, but that doesn’t appear to be the case here as these contracts are per country, not globally.

Disney has removed titles previously due to technical reasons and then shortly returned to Disney+. We’ve also seen titles removed for older movies that aren’t particularly popular, but it’s unlikely “Oklahoma!” falls into that category.

It’s unknown if and when “Oklahoma!” will return to Disney+, but we’ll let you know when we hear further news.

There’s a box social coming up, and Curly (Gordon MacRae) asks Laurey (Shirley Jones) if she’ll be his date. Trouble is, Laurey thinks he’s waited too long, and in a fit of pique accepts an offer from the boorish Jud (Rod Steiger) instead. Meanwhile, Laurey’s friend Ado Annie (Gloria Grahame) is also torn between two men: a cowboy named Will (Gene Nelson) and a foreign peddler, Ali Hakim (Eddie Albert). Both women struggle to know their own hearts before it’s too late.
