Onyx Collective’s Hulu Series ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Adds 4 More To Cast

Victor Rasuk (The Baker and the Beauty), Christopher Cassarino (New Amsterdam), Brooke Lyons (Lincoln Rhyme: The Hunt for the Bone Collector) and Eugene Byrd (8 Mile) are set for key recurring roles in Disney’s Onyx Collective series for Hulu titled “Reasonable Doubt.”  The legal drama from Kerry Washington was greenlit last September and stars Emayatzy Corinealdi (Ballers).

The series will center on Jax Stewart (Corinealdi), a lawyer with “questionable ethics” who also happens to be one of the most brilliant defense attorneys in all of Los Angeles.

Additional cast includes Paul Fox (Mank), Perri Camper (American Soul), Nefetari Spencer (South Side), Tiffany Yvonne Cox (Good Trouble) and Shannon Kane (Terror Lake Drive).

According to Deadline:

Rasuk plays Mike Llanas, an overzealous D.A., a man who lives and dies for his work. He and Jax went to law school together and have a history as rivals.

Cassarino will play Rich, an attorney at the same firm where Jax works, dealing mostly with contracts and litigation. He clashes with Jax during a huge case during the season.

Lyons portrays Sarah, the wife of multi-millionaire Braydon Mitchell. Sarah is well-educated and gave up everything to support her husband.

Byrd plays CJ, Damon’s brother, who feels betrayed when Damon questions him about conducting other business at the auto-shop while Damon was in jail.

Washington is set to direct the first episode.  Raamla Mohamed is writing and executive producing the series, which features an all-Black writing staff. The series will be executive produced by Kerry Washington and Pilar Savone for Simpson Street and Larry Wilmore via Wilmore Films.  Attorney Shawn Holley is a co-executive producer as is Jon Leshay.

ABC Signature will produce.

Rasuk’s credits include the series lead in ABC’s The Baker and the Beauty, HBO’s How to Make it in America, ER, Stalker, Colony, Blue Bloods and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.

Cassarino’s credits include NBC’s New Amsterdam, Disney+’s The Right Stuff, The Equalizer, Blue Bloods, Law & Order: SVUThe Code,  NCIS: New Orleans and PBS’ Mercy Street, among others.
