‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Disney+ Series Reportedly In Early Development

Aside from the Margot Robbie led Pirates of the Caribbean film in development, Disney+ may have another Pirates project up their sleeve.

The news comes from The DisInsider Show’s “Rumor of the Week” segment, where they shared that a Pirates of the Caribbean Disney+ series is “in very early development stages.”  Because the project is in the very early stages of development, no talent, director etc have been attached to the show yet.  As always, since nothing has been confirmed by Disney, we will treat this as a rumor for now.

Birds of Prey star Margot Robbie has been eyed to star in the previously announced Pirates of the Caribbean film which will take place in the same world as the movies that starred Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow.  This will be an all-new original story though, with new characters set in the Pirates universe.

Plot Details are being kept under wraps, but we do know the film is being written by Christina Hodson, who also worked on Birds Of Prey.  Jerry Bruckheimer will produce.
