Quentin Plair Joins Hulu’s ‘Tiny Beautiful Things’

Quentin Plair (The Good Lord Bird) has joined Hulu’s “Tiny Beautiful Things” as a series regular.  The new series is an adaptation based on Cheryl Strayed’s New York Times bestseller and will star Kathryn Hahn.

The half-hour series is about a woman (Hahn) who reluctantly becomes Dear Sugar — an anonymous, revered advice columnist — when her own life is falling apart.   Told in multiple timelines with astonishing intimacy, nerve and candor, she excavates the beauty, struggle and humor in her own life to show us that we are not beyond rescue, that it’s our stories that will ultimately save us.

According to Deadline, Plair will play Danny Kinkade, a creative spirit and musician; bright and level-headed. He’s frustratedly in love with his wife Clare (Kathryn Hahn) and at his wit’s end over her selfish and self-destructive antics. Pushed over the edge, he’s told her she needs to leave their house and join him in couples therapy to salvage their marriage and family unit.

Liz Tigelaar is writing and Laura Dern and Reese Witherspoon are executive producing.

Liz Tegelaar is the creator, showrunner and executive producer.

Hahn will executive produce in addition to starring. Strayed is also an executive producer on the series. Witherspoon executive produces via Hello Sunshine along with Lauren Neustadter. Dern and Jayme Lemons executive produce under their Jaywalker Pictures banner. Stacey Silverman will executive produce for Tigelaar’s Best Day Ever.

ABC Signature and Hello Sunshine are the studios for the series.

Plair can be seen next in Welcome to Chippendales for 20th Television for Hulu opposite Kumail Nanjiani. He also has a recurring role on CW’s Roswell, New Mexico. Other credits include the Showtime’s The Good Lord Bird, The QuadThe Good Doctor, and Burning Sands.
