Rafael Casal Reportedly Joins Marvel’s ‘Loki’ Season 2

Rafael Casal (Blindspotting) has reportedly joined the cast of Marvel’s “Loki” Season 2 at Disney+.  Details about Casal’s character are being kept under wraps however Deadline reports that it is a major role and online speculation leads to Casal playing Zaniac.

Season 1 of Marvel Studios’ “Loki” featured the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.

Tom Hiddleston is set to return as Loki.  Owen Wilson, who played Mobius in the first season of “Loki,” recently confirmed that his character would be returning for the second season.  Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who played Ravonna Renslayer in Season 1, also recently confirmed to GMA that she will be returning.

Plot details for the second season are being kept under wraps. Eric Martin will serve as writer for all six episodes.  Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have been tapped to co-direct a majority of the episodes for “Loki” Season 2.   Hiddleston and Michael Waldron, who wrote and served as showrunner in Season 1, will executive produce Season 2.

Composer Natalie Holt will return to compose the score for the second season.

Filming on the second season of the Disney+ Original series “Loki” is currently underway at Pinewood Studios in the UK.

A release date has not been announced yet for Season 2 of “Loki,” however with filming starting, we could see it launch on Disney+ mid-2023.

Season 1 of “Loki” is available to stream now on Disney+.
