Review: Big Sky Season Two Episode One

Big Sky was a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine, the plot was perhaps a little iffy at times, but it had a real mystery that kept me hooked from the first episode with twists and turns that made me want more each week. I’m not ashamed to admit I enjoyed it a lot.

As a reminder, the show stars Katheryn Winnick, Kylie Bunbury, Brian Geraghty and Jesse James Keitel. Season two, episode one, is available now on Disney+ with new episodes available weekly on Wednesdays.

Season one ended on quite a big cliffhanger; one mystery was wrapped up while another had the potential to make real waves, but what can we expect from season two?

As well as familiar returning cast members, Logan Marshall-Green joins season two. I thought the season one storyline about abducted teens was the strongest. It seems that season two may be going a similar way with introducing this new character and her friends, who are dragged into a new mystery.

I’ll keep this review spoiler-free but make sure you stick around for the end of the episode as it brings with it a reveal and cliffhanger that will shock you! My concerns were that season one’s storylines had run their course, but episode one has convinced me that there is still plenty of excitement left in them for season two.

Like most drama series that follows the old fashioned weekly episode formula, there was a lot of time spent on set-up, which is par for the course, and I’m confident they will pay off with exciting reveals somewhere down the line.

Many moving pieces are set in place to make Big Sky season two just as if not more exciting as season one was. I’m here for it, and I cant wait to see how things play out.
