Rumor: ‘Ms. Marvel’ Release Delayed To June-July 2022 on Disney+

“Hawkeye” and “Ms. Marvel” are both up next on Marvel’s streaming docket.  Both of these series were expected to arrive on Disney+ later this year however following the announcement that “Hawkeye” will premiere on November 24th, many speculated that “Ms. Marvel” might not arrive until early 2022.

Last month Variety confirmed that “Ms. Marvel” will not be released on Disney+ this year. Instead, it was reported that it will premiere sometime in early 2022.  Although an exact date was not given, an earlier report pointed to the series being released on the streamer in February of next year.

Now, a new piece of information recently surfaced on Twitter suggesting “Ms. Marvel” may not arrive on Disney+ until June or July 2022.  The news comes from actor Mohan Kapur, who will portray Kamala’s dad, Yusuf Khan, in both “Ms. Marvel” and “The Marvels,” who told a fan on Twitter that the series might be released in June or July.  You can see that tweet below:

Marvel or Disney has not announced an official release date for “Ms. Marvel” so we’ll treat this as a rumor for now.  It’s possible we could see a trailer drop and hear of a release date on Diney+ Day which takes place on November 12th.  The series will have a direct tie-in to the upcoming film “The Marvels”, which releases in theaters on November 11, 2022, and also features Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau.  We should definitely expect to see “Ms. Marvel” debut on Disney+ before then.

Kevin Feige has described Ms. Marvel “as one of the newer characters in the Marvel Comic Universe.”  The six-part series is based on the popular comics revolving around 16-year-old Pakistani-American and New Jersey native Kamala Khan.  Iman Vellani will play the titular hero.

The series also stars the Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, Nimra Bucha, and Farhan Akhtar.

Bisha K. Ali is set as co-writer and showrunner, with four directors including Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Adil El Arbi, Billal Fallah and Meera Menon.
