Ryan Gosling Or Alexander Skarsgård Rumored for Villain Role in Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts’

Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Thunderbolts” is scheduled to release in theaters on July 26, 2024, and according to a new rumor, we may know who the studio is eyeing to play the main villain in the film.

The news comes from industry scooper  Daniel RPK, who revealed on his latest Patreon that Marvel Studios is currently looking to cast a “conflicted and powerful villain” in “Thunderbolts” comparing him to an “evil Superman” and are interested in Ryan Gosling or Alexander Skarsgård to fill the role.

As always, since nothing has been confirmed by Marvel or Disney, we will treat this as a rumor for now.

Cast previously announced for “Thunderbolts” includes David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, ​​Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S.Agent, and Florence Pugh reprising her role as Yelena Belova.

Harrison Ford is also expected to reprise his role as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross from Captain America: New World Order.

Jake Schreier has been tapped as director, Eric Pearson (Black Widow) is penning the script with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige producing.

Filming on the project will reportedly begin in June 2023.
