Sandrine Holt to Reportedly Play Vanessa Fisk in Marvel’s ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Disney+ Series

Last December, it was reported that Sandrine Holt had been cast in Marvel’s upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again” series for Disney+.  At that time, it was rumored Holt would play a love interest for one of the leads and according to a new report from THR, the actress will play Vanessa Fisk, Wilson Fisk’s wife.

“Daredevil: Born Again” is an Original Disney+ series that will star Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio.

Cox originally played Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the Marvel series on Netflix from 2015 to 2018.  He also appeared in the spinoff series, The Defenders. Most recently his character had a cameo appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk Attorney at Law.

Vincent D’Onofrio who played Wilson Fisk in the original “Daredevil” series recently reprised his role as Kingpin, in the Disney+ series Hawkeye.  The two will also reprise their roles in the upcoming Echo series on Disney+ which was previously announced to premiere in 2023.

Recently it was confirmed that Jon Bernthal will also be reprising his role as Frank Castle aka The Punisher in the series.  Bernthal first played the character in the second season of Netflix’s original Daredevil series which spawned “The Punisher” series which ran for two seasons 2017-19.

Sopranos prequel actor Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark) has joined the cast of Born Again in a major role and Margarita Levieva (The Deuce) and Sandrine Holt (American Gigolo) have also boarded the series. Holt will reportedly play Vanessa Fisk, the wife of Wilson Fisk.  Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon) and Michael Gaston (Chicago P.D., Mayor of Kingstown) have also been cast in undisclosed roles.

THR also reports that actors Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, respectively from the Netflix Daredevil series are not expected to return. It is unclear if they are being recast or omitted from the story.

Director Michael Cuesta (Dexter, Homeland) will helm the first episode.

Filming on the project is expected to begin this month and continue through November 15, 2023. It was previously revealed that the project will be filming under the working title “Out the Kitchen” under the production company Blind Faith Productions LLC.

The series will be written and executive produced by Covert Affairs creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord.

Season 1 will consist of 18 episodes and will premiere on Disney+ in Spring 2024.
