Deadline is reporting that Sarah Hyland has joined the cast of ABC’s fairytale drama series, “Epic” from Once Upon a Time creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. The Modern Family actress will star alongside previously announced Brittany O’Grady (Star) and Eleanor Fanyinka (Tom and Jerry).
“Epic” is being described as a romantic anthology series that reinvents fairy tales for a new generation.
Hyland has reportedly landed a lead role in the series and will play a princess named Rose. However, right as she is supposed to wed her Prince Charming he gets cold feet, forcing her to find a new happily ever after.
“Epic” was written by former Once Upon a Time writer Brigitte Hales, who executive produces with Horowitz, Kitsis and Griffiths. James Griffiths (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers) is directing the pilot.
