Searchlight’s ‘Chevalier’ Release Date Delayed

Searchlight Pictures has delayed the theatrical release of the biopic Chevalier.  The film was initially set to release on Friday, April 7th, 2023, however, the film has been pushed back to Friday, April 21, 202

Inspired by the incredible true story of composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. The illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner, Bologne (Kelvin Harrison Jr. in a tour de force performance) rises to improbable heights in French society as a celebrated violinist-composer and fencer, complete with an ill-fated love affair and a falling out with Marie Antoinette (Lucy Boynton) and her court.

Cast for the film includes Minnie Driver, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Samara Weaving, Alex Fitzalan, and Lucy Boynton.

Stephen Williams (Watchmen) is directing from an original script by Stefani Robinson (Atlanta). Producers are Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe at Element Pictures; Stefani Robinson; and Dianne McGunigle. At Searchlight, overseeing are Director of Production Zahra Phillips and Creative Executive Cornelia Burleigh.
