The third season of The Orville titled “The Orville: New Horizons” concluded its 10 episode run last summer on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ in the UK, Ireland and Canada. All three seasons of the epic space adventure series are also streaming now on Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ in Australia.
Since then, Disney has not officially announced if the show would return for a fourth season. Last August, during an interview with TV Line, Seth MacFarlane said that the chances for a Season 4 renewal were “50-50.” MacFarlane also added that streaming all three seasons on Disney+ might help its odds.
MacFarlane has now given another update on a possible fourth season on social media. In a recent tweet in response to a fan who questions why it’s taking so long for The Orville season 4 to be renewed, MacFarlane said he remains cautiously optimistic. You can see that tweet below:
The industry is in the midst of a time of upheaval and transition. I wish I could provide a definitive answer to your question. At the moment, all I can say is that I remain… cautiously optimistic. 🚀 https://t.co/DIsZWBJFga

Set 400 years in the future, the series follows the adventures of The Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space. In the new, third season, the crew of the U.S.S. Orville continue their mission of exploration, as they navigate both the mysteries of the universe and the complexities of their own interpersonal relationships.
The ensemble cast includes MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J Lee, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman, Jessica Szohr and Anne Winters.
All three seasons of “The Orville” are produced by 20th Television and Fuzzy Door. The series was created and written by Seth MacFarlane. MacFarlane, Brannon Braga, David A. Goodman, Jon Cassar, Jason Clark and Howard Griffith serve as executive producers.
Seasons 1-3 of The Orville are available to stream on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in the United States, UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia.
