Sky Cinema Disney Closing End of December

Sky Cinema Disney, the premium Sky movies channel in the United Kingdom, will be closing on December 30th.  Beginning January 1, 2021, Disney+ will be the home of all Disney movies in the country.

The Disney+ app is available for Sky Q customers, but will require an additional cost and will not be included in a Sky Movies bundle.

The channel originally launched back in March 2013 and showed Disney movies throughout the day.

Moving forward, Disney+ UK subscribers could see a release schedule that would be more in align with the United States since movies were released later in the UK due to the existing deal with Sky.

Diney+ officially launched in the United Kingdom back in March.  Since then, the Walt Disney Company closed its DisneyLife streaming service and all three of it’s Disney Channels.

Writer/Blogger and keeper of the keys at The I also co-host the DisWorld Podcast with Justin Eddy. My happy place is any Disney park but mostly Disneyland. I love to write, read, plan trips, spend time with family and friends, nature, live music, wine and the occasional Dole Whip. I also love my Border Collie who is obsessed with watching football and Conan O'Brien.
