Sky Cinema Disney, the premium Sky movies channel in the United Kingdom, will be closing on December 30th. Beginning January 1, 2021, Disney+ will be the home of all Disney movies in the country.
The Disney+ app is available for Sky Q customers, but will require an additional cost and will not be included in a Sky Movies bundle.
The channel originally launched back in March 2013 and showed Disney movies throughout the day.
Moving forward, Disney+ UK subscribers could see a release schedule that would be more in align with the United States since movies were released later in the UK due to the existing deal with Sky.
Diney+ officially launched in the United Kingdom back in March. Since then, the Walt Disney Company closed its DisneyLife streaming service and all three of it’s Disney Channels.
