Back in May, it was announced that a Percy Jackson series was in development for Disney+. Today Rick Riordan, who is the author of the popular children’s books, shared a 10 second video clip on Tik Tok featuring the logo for the series which you can see below:

Riordan is currenty writing the scripts for the show and submitted the pilot to Disney last month. He said the earliest the TV series would be hitting Disney+ would be in 2022.
The series will reportedly follow the story line of the five-book series starting with “The Lightning Thief” which centers on a teenager who discovers he’s the descendant of a Greek god and sets out on an adventure to settle an on-going battle between the gods. It will be produced by Fox 21 TV Studios.
20th Century Fox adapted the first two books of the Percy Jackson series into a series of films. The first film, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, was directed by Chris Columbus and was released in 2010. The second film, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, was directed by Thor Freudenthal and was released in 2013. The series has grossed nearly $430 million at the worldwide box office.
Riordan’s books have been translated into 42 languages and sold more than 30 million copies in the US.
Additional details are expected to be revealed during Disney’s Investor Day which takes place today, December 10th. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET / 1:30 p.m. PT and last approximately four hours.
