Longtime Star Wars animation composer, Kevin Kiner recently confirmed that Lucasfilm was working on a new Star Wars animated project. Kiner has previously composed music for several Star Wars animated series including The Clone Wars, Rebels and The Bad Batch. During a recent appearance on The Convor Call, Kiner revealed a new Star Wars animated project was in development and shared his excitement. You can see what Kiner said below:
“You know, we are working on a new project. It’s an animated project. It’s a Star Wars project. And that’s all we can say. It’s really, really frikkin’ great… To the point where Lucasfilm and Disney are giving us full orchestra for every episode… It’s a very special project, some great, great people are involved, and we’re really privileged to be part of that one. And I probably said too much already.”
There are a couple of possibilities of what the project might be. Last December, a picture of a Lucasfilm’s employee gift surfaced online and may have potentially leaked to a new “Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi” project that had not been previously announced. More recently, there was a rumor that a new animated series is in development at Disney+ based on the “Star Wars: Lost Stars” novel. The only upcoming animated Star Wars project that has been confirmed so far is Season 2 of The Bad Batch which is coming soon to Disney+.
