Star Wars Confirms Andor’s Disney+ Release Schedule

Last week, Disney+ released a new trailer for the Disney+ Original series “Andor” along with the news that the series premiere date had been delayed to Wednesday, September 21, 2022.  The series was previously scheduled to arrive on Disney+ on August 31 with the first two episodes, but will now debut on September 21 with the first three episodes.

The official Star Wars Instagram account confirmed the release schedule for the series which you can see below.  Season 1 will consist of 12 episodes and conclude on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

The “Andor” series explores a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw.

The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.

American composer Nicholas Britell is composing the score for the upcoming “Andor” series.

Season 1 will consist of 12 episodes. The series is also confirmed for a second season. Season 2 will consist of 12 episodes with the final episode leading into Rogue One.  Season 2 of the series is scheduled to begin filming this November.
