‘Star Wars: Lando’ Series Announced for Disney+

During Disney’s Investor Day presentation, President of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy announced that Disney+ is working on a new event series based on the galaxy’s favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian.  “Lando” is currently in the early stages of development.

Justin Simien, creator of the critically-acclaimed Dear White People is deveoping the story for the streaming service.

Missing from the announcement however, was who will be playing the character in the show.  Previous rumors suggested Donald Glover or Billy D. Williams would play the role of Lando in the spinoff series.

Glover played Lando in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story.  Billy Dee Williams played Lando in the original Star Wars trilogy, and reprised his role in The Rise of Skywalker.

Fans are speculating the new Lando series would most likely be a prequel to the original trilogy, or it’s possible the story would pick-up immediately after Solo.
