‘Tell Me Lies’ Disney+ Release Date Announced (AUS, NZ)

Disney has announced that the upcoming drama series “Tell Me Lies” will premiere on Disney+ in Australia and New Zealand under the Star banner on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, the same day the series will debut on Disney+ in Canada. The series will also release on Hulu in the United States on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, with the first 3 episodes. New episodes will release weekly after.  The series is based on Carola Lovering’s 2018 novel which follows a college girl who becomes obsessed with a charming man.

“Tell Me Lies” follows a tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of 8 years. When Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) meet at college, they are at that formative age when seemingly mundane choices lead the way to irrevocable consequences. Although their relationship begins like any typical campus romance, they quickly fall into an addictive entanglement that will permanently alter not only their lives, but the lives of everyone around them.

Cast includes Grace Van Patten (Nine Perfect Strangers), Jackson White (Mrs. Fletcher), Sonia Mena(Invasion), Catherine Missal (The Blacklist), Alicia Crowder(Bleecker), Branden Cook (Industry), Spencer House (The Time Traveler’s Wife) and Benjamin Wadsworth (Deadly Class).  Gabriella Pession (Station 19), Edmund Donovan (Gossip Girl) and Natalee Linez (Power Book III: Raising Kanan) have been cast in recurring roles.

Meaghan Oppenheimer serves as executive producer & showrunner. Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss executive produce under their Belletrist Productions banner along with Matt Matruski, Laura Lewis and Stephanie Noonan who executive produce for Rebelle Media, and VICE Studios’ Shannon Gibson and Sam Schlaifer who executive produce for Vice-owned Refinery29. Jonathan Levine also serves as executive producer and pilot director. Adapted from Carola Lovering’s novel of the same name, Lovering will serve as a consulting producer.
