Temuera Morrison (The Book of Boba Fett) is rumored to return as the fan-favorite Captain Rex in the upcoming Disney+ Original series “Ahsoka.” The news comes from One Take News which says it’s unclear if he will appear in flashbacks or in the present time. It’s also unclear if Morrison will be playing any other clones in the series.
Morrison first made his Star Wars debut as Jango Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and most recently returned to play Jango’s son, the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett.
As always, since nothing has been confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney, we will treat this as a rumor for now.
Set after the fall of the Empire, “Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
In addition to Rosario Dawson, “Ahsoka” stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and Lars Mikkelsen will be reprising his animated role from The Clone Wars. Wes Chatham (The Expanse, Hunger Games, Tenet) will play the right-hand man to Thrawn in the series.
David Tennant returns to the Star Wars universe to play the droid character Huyang in the series. Hayden Christensen is also rumored to return as Anakin Skywalker in the series.
The series is written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist is co-executive producer.
The line-up of directors set to work on the series includes Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.
“Ahsoka” will consist of 8 episodes and debut exclusively on Disney+ in August 2023.
