The Daniels To Reportedly Direct An Episode of ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’

The Daniels will reportedly direct at least one episode of the upcoming Disney+ Original series “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.”  The series stars Jude law, is directed by Jon Watts, and comes from executive producers Jon Watts, Christopher Ford, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

The Daniels is comprised of the directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. The team each won 3 Oscars for Best Orginal Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture for the film Everything Everywhere All At Once. Other credits include the Turn Down For What music video and the 2016 film Swiss Army Man.

As always, since nothing has been announced by Lucasfilm or Disney, we will treat this as a rumor for now.

The show takes place during the post–’Return of the Jedi’ reconstruction that follows the fall of the Empire, the same as ‘The Mandalorian,’ but its plot remains a secret. Inside Lucasfilm, the show is being described as a galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.

The synopsis is as follows: Skeleton Crew tells the story of four kids who find themselves lost in in the vastness of the galaxy trying to find their way home.

A recent piece of information from The Hollywood Reporter says the budget for the series is around 136 million which is one of the highest costing series for the streaming service.

“Skeleton Crew” has wrapped filming and is expected to release on Disney+ in 2023.
