The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was initially supposed to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first Disney+ show. The series was originally scheduled to debut in August 2020 followed by the new WandaVision series which would premiere in December 2020. Then the pandemic hit, which forced filming to shutdown all over the world. Studios then had to delay and reshuffle their release calendars in order to compensate.
Disney recently confirmed WandaVision would debut on the streaming service in late 2020 which left fans wondering the state of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Filming just resumed on the series in Atlanta and while there is little left to film, it seemed doubtful that the series would premiere anytime soon.
Now, we have a little more clarity on the situation. An updated landing page for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ now lists the show as “coming 2021,” it previously said “Fall 2020.” You can see a screenshot of the updated page below.
While we still don’t know an exact release date for either series, we at least know that both will be coming soon and the order in which to expect them.
Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience. Daniel Brühl, Emily VanCamp, and Wyatt Russell are also starring.
