Disney and Marvel have made the decision to shut down production of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier over concerns of the coronavirus outbreak in Prague. The government of Prague recently closed schools and placed other restrictions on events and travel due to the growing number of cases of the virus.
According to Deadline, it was just going to be a short filming shoot, which began on Friday and was only scheduled to last a week. Today, the studio shut down the production and called everybody home to Atlanta. No word at the moment whether the show will return to Prague.
This is the second time filming on the series has been interrupted. In January, the show was due to shoot in Puerto Rico but was forced to postpone filming after a series of powerful earthquakes hit the coast.
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are set to reprise their roles from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the 6-episode series, with Daniel Brühl, Emily VanCamp, and Wyatt Russell also starring.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set to stream exclusively on Disney+ in August 2020.
