It’s no secret that The Mandalorian has been a huge hit for Disney+, and TV research company Parrot Analytics has provided some evidence at just how popular the Star Wars spinoff series is on the streaming service. The analytics company said there were 33M demand expressions for The Mandalorian on March 24, which is when Disney+ launched in seven countries across Europe with the first two episodes of the series available to stream.
Parrot collects data from across social media, video streaming, photo sharing, blogging and research platforms to produce “demand expression” figures. Then, these figures produce a number on the total audience demand for a particular TV program.
Germany was the country with the most views, with 12 million demand expressions, with the UK next hitting 7.9 million expressions, Italy was just behind at 6.5 million and Spain had 5 million demand expressions. Switzerland had 723,629, Austria had 535,771 and finally Ireland had only 396,099 demand expressions.
Disney has not yet stated how individual shows are performing on Disney+, but they did announce that the streaming service had acquired 28.6M subscribers in the U.S. since its launch in November of last year.
