‘The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers’ Season 2 Disney+ Premiere Date Announced

At today’s virtual Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Disney+ paneled a selection of upcoming Original Series from across a number of its key brands and announced the fall premiere date for “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” Season 2.  The second season will premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

In Season 2, after winning back the Mighty Ducks team name last year, our squad-with-heart and their coach Alex Morrow (Lauren Graham) take to the road to attend an intense summer hockey institute in California run by charming yet hardcore former NHL player, Colin Cole (Josh Duhamel). It’s a place for kids to get excellent at hockey — without school to get in the way. As our Ducks try to survive in this super-competitive environment, they’re faced with the question: Can you win summer?

Duhamel will play a new character Gavin Cole, a former NHL player-turned-coach who is described as inspirational, charming and hardcore as he is big on the hockey metaphor that applies to life. He runs the super-intense summer hockey institute where the Mighty Ducks land for season two.

In addition to Graham and Duhamel, the series also stars Brady Noon, Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Taegen Burns and De’Jon Watts.

Naveen Paddock (New Amsterdam) has joined Season 2 of Disney+’s “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” as a series regular. Additionally,  Margot Anderson-Song (Defending Jacob), Noah Baird (A Christmas Story Live), Stephnie Weir (A Million Little Things), Connor DeWolfe, Timm Sharp (Enlightened) and Tiffany Denise Hobbs (Claws) have been cast in heavily recurring roles for the second season.

Lauren Graham and Josh Duhamel will each direct an episode of the second season of “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.”

Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith (13 Going on 30, The King of Queens) return as showrunners for season two and co-created the series alongside the film’s Steven Brill. James Griffiths and Michael Spiller exec produce, with the former having directed multiple episodes. Graham exec produces alongside George Heller and Brad Petrigala of Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Jordan Kerner will also exec produce. Spiller and Griffiths will not return for season two.

The first season of “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” is available to stream now on Disney+, along with the original three films.
